Dwellings
During spring, summer, and fall, Innu lived in groups of several families. Each family lived in its own wigwam. These structures were built with alder frames and covered with birchbark and caribou skin. Since Innu travelled a large part of the year, the type of design worked very well. Innu carried the caribou hides when moving camps, and simply built new frames at each camp.
During the coldest months, the group would sometimes live together in one large dwelling.
