Clothing
Mi'kmaq prepared animal skins to create clothing.
Men and women created robes, leggings, and moccasins from caribou , moose, deer, and seal skin.
Clothing was decorated using a dye made from yellow or red ochre, charcoal, ground white shell, berries, and fish or bird eggs.
Animal claws, teeth, or quills were also used to decorate clothing, as were beads.
